“Porsche Ukraine” Supports Five Charity Projects of SOS Children’s Village

Just before New Year, Porsche Ukraine has supported five different projects in the framework of SOS Children's Village - an organization working for the prevention of child abandonment and providing care to children at risk of losing parental care.

Among other things, Porsche allocated funds for the purchase of climbing gym frame enhancing the development of kids' shallow motor skills. The frame was arranged at the new social Center "SOS Children's village", recently opened in Kiev for three hundred children. This climbing structure is particularly beneficial to the kids needing correctional therapy due to the lag in their development.

Porsche Ukraine has also assisted in buying optical fibers for sensory rooms, which are designed to help autistic children, as well as to those who suffer from stress. Optical fibers glow different colors, creating a fairytale atmosphere. Kids may use them as toys, thus receiving not just therapeutic but also brain building experience. 

Conducting speech therapy sessions for the children with the speech disorders due to the conflict in Donbass should be mentioned as another Porsche's initiative, in which participated the leading educational specialists from Lugansk region.

"Partnership with Porsche Ukraine is an example of an effective symbiosis of public initiatives and responsible business. Thanks to their constant support we can confidently continue to back up families who are most in need", told the representatives of SOS Children's village NGO.

Owing to Porsche Ukraine, beds for the members of displaced families will be purchased. In the first place, these will be large families with only one of the parents - a mother or a father, and families having financial problems. Apart from the mentioned complex projects, company Porsche Ukraine continues to support families needing help due to health reasons. In particular, this year the company has financed the rehabilitation program for a four-year-old boy with congenital defects, who badly needed treatment in a specialized institution.

All in all, company Porsche Ukraine allocated 93500 UHN for the implementation of all five programs.

"Helping those who are in need is a fundamental component of our social responsibility corporate strategy. We actively involve into various charity projects, and we have been cooperating with the SOS Children's village for several years. Initially they addressed us with a request for our financial assistance in one of their projects. However, we decided to support all five of the proposed plans. And we will continue to actively participate in their further implementation, because children are our future", said Josef Graf, Director of Porsche Ukraine.

It should be reminded that since 2016 Porsche Ukraine fully supports and provides assistance to the SOS Children's Village Ukraine, where several hundred orphans and children deprived of parental care are brought up. Recently, a workshop for adolescents at the Children's Village in Brovary was opened and a cleaning tractor was purchased. Porsche Ukraine provides senior pupils of SOS Children's Village in Brovary with the opportunities of attending driving courses, which enables them to get their drivers' licenses soon.
