Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Ukraine: Charity Project for Support for People with Reduced Mobility

October 31, 2017: Within the framework of the 'Mobility for Life' Social Project, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Ukraine donated two specially equipped Volkswagen Caddy Maxi.

The issue of making cities accessible for people with disabilities has become very acute within the context of the present-day realities in the Ukrainian society. Absence of specially equipped vehicles is only one of the problems these people constantly face in daily life.
Therefore, the Porsche Ukraine LLC management made a decision to donate two vehicles with ramps for wheelchairs to organizations that may use them in everyday work situations to actually help people in need.
One of the cars was donated to «Nodus», Neurological and Neurosurgical Rehabilitation Research Centre that develops own Social Project for the injured ATO participants and veterans with musculoskeletal and neurological disorders. The Centre needs specially equipped vehicles for patient transportation between the buildings.
The second vehicle will become a part of the Kyiv regional social service centre's car park, as a wheelchair accessible taxi for people with disabilities.
By implementing this project, Porsche Ukraine LLC aims to draw attention to one of the issues of primary importance - making city facilities accessible for handicapped people - and hopes that the situation will significantly improve in the nearest future!
